How to get students to use the knowledge into their daily communication.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Warming up
1. Daily greeting
2. Sing a song called Once I Caught a Fish Alive for students and then lead in the topic
Justification: To attract students’ attention and lead in the class naturally.
Step 2: Presentation
1. Present pictures about words on the blackboard;
2. Play a game called Finger Show using the words on the blackboard;
3. Ask students to discuss in groups of four to find the similarities among these words;
4. Teacher conclude the pronunciation rule of letter “e”;
5. Lead students to repeat the words after using the Phonics Method.
Justification: Pictures can show the words in a fun way, and discuss can improve students cooperation.
Step 3: Practice
Play a game called Magic Box. Teacher take out letter and form a new word, and students should read it.
Justification: This is to help students gain the ability to recognize the words, and master the correct pronunciation.
Step 4: Production
Ask students to work in groups of 4 to make a role play to act customers and salesman by using the pronunciation rule we learned today. 5 minutes for preparation. After that, invite students to share their dialogue, and give encouragement.
Justification: These performing tasks enable the students to learn in an efficient way.
