中学英语《Cartoon》教学设计

材料:

When people say “culture”, we think of art and history. But one very famous symbol in American culture is a cartoon. We all know and love the black mouse with two large round ears-Mickey Mouse. Over 80 years ago, he first appeared in the cartoon Steamboat Willies. When this cartoon came out in New York on November 18, 1928, it was the first cartoon with sound and music. The man behind Mickey was Walt Disney. He became very rich and successful. In the 1930s, he made 87 cartoons with Mickey.

教学设计:

Teaching Objectives

1. Knowledge Objective

Students can understand the main idea of this passage and the meaning of some basic words like: cartoon/appear/successful/culture.

2. Ability Objective

Students can improve their ability of skimming and scanning and can use past tense to express things that happened in the past.

3. Emotional Objective

To arouse students’ awareness of cooperation with others through group work and discussion.

How to help students find out the main idea of this passage.

How to help students retell the story according to given time line.

Teaching Procedures:

Step 1 Warming up

Greet with the students. Then play an interesting film about this cute cartoon character-Mickey Mouse, and ask them some questions:

Q1: Do you know the creator of this cute cartoon character?

Q2: Do you like to watch cartoons?

Q3: What is your favorite cartoon?

Q4: Why do you like it?

Then lead in this class-cartoon.

Step 2 Pre-reading:

Three questions:

Q1: What do people think of cartoons?

Q2: What do you think of the symbol of Chinese culture?

Q3: Can you guess the relationship between American culture and Walt Disney?

Ask students the main idea of the passage.
